Do I need to test my plug socket to make sure it has an Earth connection?

In the UK all mains sockets are required to be earthed by law,. If you are in any doubt about your mains connection or extension socket we have a simple easy to use "plug n play" testing plug (https://www.lontechhealthdefence.co.uk/product-page/mains-tester-uk-plug)available in our store that we recommend. Plug the mains testing plug into the socket you wish to use and you will see a series of LEDs which will indicate if the socket has an earth connection and if it is wired correctly.

Can I use an extension lead with my earthing product?

Yes, as long as the extension lead has a ground wire connection. Our fitted earthing sheets come with a 455cm long earthing cable which should give you more options over which socket in your room you can use.

What is the difference between Earthing sheets & grounding sheets?

The words grounding sheets and earthing sheet are used interchangeably in the industry. Grounding is more commonly used in the USA and earthing is more commonly used in the UK.
Technically the main difference between earthing and grounding is that earthing refers that the circuit is physically connected to the ground with zero volt potential.  Grounding  refers to that the circuit is not physically connected to the ground but still has zero volt potential. Another important difference between earthing and grounding is that in grounding the current-carrying part is connected to the ground. In earthing the non-currect carrying parts are connected to the ground (earth), just like the Earthing cable to your Earth2Skin™ Fitted bed sheet connects via your mains outlet's non-current carrying path to the earth.

Do your fitted earthing sheets use electricty?

No, the Earthing sheet's cable and plug connects to your main socket's earth pin only. The earthing sheet just needs the ground connection to work. Your earthing sheet can also work using an earthing rod which you stake directly into the earth.

How does the Lontech Fitted Earthing Sheet work?

The Lontech Earthing Sheet works by creating a conductive bond between you and the earth via your earthing cable, plug and your mains earthing sytem or direct into the earth if you are using an earthing rod staked into the ground.
 
The earthing bond you make when using your sheet is the same as you get when you are walking barefoot on the beach or on the grass.
 
This conductive bond allows you to share the Earth's abundance of available negative ions which our bodies are often lacking as a result of various stressors, diseases, toxins and natural metabolism processes.
 
These negative ions from the earth act on us bringing back a state of homeostasis (balance) resulting in the many health benefits reported by our users and other users all around the world.

Do I need to make bare skin contact with the sheet?

No, you can still be earthed in your night clothes as long as they are made from natural fibres such as cotton.

Is there any possibility that I will be electrocuted using my Earthing Sheet?

Accepted Answer

Your Earthing Sheet is not powered by electricity, you are simply using your mains socket outlet to form a conductive path to the ground (earth). The earthing pin on your plug which your earthing cable is connected is non current carrying. The cable has a 100 Mega ohm resistor built in for extra safety.
 
In the UK, the mains earth connection is required by law, if you are in any doubt about your mains connection or wish to use an extension plug socket we recommend that you purchase a simple to use “plug  n play” UK mains testing plug f(https://www.lontechhealthdefence.co.uk/product-page/mains-tester-uk-plug)rom our store which will tell you if your socket/extension plug is earthed and wired correctly.

Can I use my electric blanket with the Lontech Fitted Earthing Sheet?

If your electric blanket is in proper working order then you can use it alongside your earthing sheet. 
To reduce your exposure to EMFs produced by your electric blanket you may want to heat your bed prior to getting in it and then plug out your electric blanket once you are ready to get into bed.

Can I use the Lontech Fitted Earthing Sheet underneath my current bed sheet?

Accepted Answer

Yes, similarly to wearing night clothes the earthing sheet will still work underneath a normal bed sheet as long as your regular bed sheet is made from natural fibres such as cotton or bamboo. The body’s normal perspiration will be enough to make a conductive bond to your earthing sheet. The regular bed sheet and or night clothes made from natural fibres will offer some resistance but will not completely block the conductive bond between you and your earthing sheet.

How to use the Lontech Fitted Earthing Sheet?

Our hand-made Earthing Sheets are fitted and have elasticated corners. They are designed to cover your entire mattress. This means your earthing sheet will not fold over making it irritating and uncomfortable whilst you sleep. Having a fitted sheet also insures that you are always going to be in contact with your earthing sheet no matter how bad of a sleeper you are, assuming that you don’t fall out of bed at night! 
 
Fitting  your earthing sheet is simple and makes spreading your bed in the morning an easy and quick task.

Fit your earthing  sheet as you would fit a normal fitted bed sheet. First make sure you have the correct orientation  that your sheet’s length and width matches your mattress’. 
The earthing pad with the silver snap connectors should be underneath and hidden when the sheet is put on.

Place the elasticated corners of your fitted Earthing Sheet over the top two corners of your mattress and tuck under, pull down smooth out and do the same for the bottom two corners. 
 
Connect the female end of your Earthing cable to the male snap on the earthing patch, which is located in the top corner of your Earthing sheet. The other end of your cable (male end) is pushed into the UK Earthing adapter plug.

Plug the adapter into the mains outlet and your sheet is now earthed! 
Any excess earthing cable can be tucked under your mattress.

No limit has been found to how much contact you can have with the earth but we would suggest  that staying in bed all day is not the best way to live your life!!

The estimated lifespan is around 2-3 years. We recommend following the care instructions to preserve the effectiveness of your earthing sheet. Personally, I have had mine for over three years and it is still conductive and working well.

You have 14 days, from the day after delivery, to let us know if there is any reason why you are unhappy with your purchase. We can then arrange for a replacement or refund.
